Hello! I'm Alison Laichter.
consulting + meditation + etc
Hi, I'm Alison. I'm a consultant, meditation teacher, facilitator, urban planner, and former Brooklynite, now based in southern California.
I design and facilitate immersive experiences, lead conferences and retreats, convene cohorts and communities of practice, manage ambitious projects, and work with individuals and teams to strategize and implement visions. My consulting clients include The Neighborhood, Hillel International, At The Well, Jewish Funders Network, Fleet Science Center, Camp Ramah in California, Chopra, Schusterman Family Philanthropies, OLAM, Leichtag Foundation, Foundation for Jewish Camp, Skirball Cultural Center, Jim Joseph Foundation, and the Jewish Federations of North America.
You can also find me teaching meditation all over the world at schools, museums, retreat centers, festivals, conferences, synagogues, farms, and online. Meditation offerings include The Practice of Parenting program for new(ish) parents, classes and workshops, retreats, special events,
mystic-in-residencies, and one-on-one coaching.

I founded and directed the first ever grassroots and community-led Jewish Meditation Center in NYC, was a recipient of the Joshua Venture Group's $100k fellowship for social entrepreneurs, and was named one of the Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36: Visionaries for a New Era.” Before founding the JMC, my urban planning work included economic consulting, pro-poor business development at the United Nations, and directing a campaign for Transportation Alternatives to re-imagine the entire east side of Manhattan for bicycle and pedestrian safety. I have a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
