Hello! I'm Alison Laichter.

consulting + meditation + etc

Hi, I'm Alison. I'm a meditation teacher, consultant, facilitator, urban planner, community organizer, and former Brooklynite, now based in southern California.

I design and facilitate immersive experiences, lead conferences and retreats,

coach lots of people, build community, and help individuals and organizations strategize visions. My consulting clients include Hillel International, Jewish Funders NetworkOneTable, Chopra Center for Wellbeing, Skirball Cultural Center, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, Leichtag Foundation, Foundation for Jewish Camp, OLAM, JProFleet Science Center, Witness Institute, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

A bunch of years ago, I founded and directed the first ever grassroots and community-led Jewish Meditation Center in NYC. I was a recipient of the

Joshua Venture Group Dual Investment Program, a two-year $100k fellowship

for social entrepreneurs and was named one of the Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36: Visionaries for a New Era.” Before founding the JMC, my urban planning career included working in economic consulting, pro-poor business development at the

UN, and directing a campaign for Transportation Alternatives to re-imagine the entire east side of Manhattan for bicycle and pedestrian safety. I have a Bachelors

in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Master of Science in

Urban Planning from Columbia University.

I teach meditation all over the world at schools, museums, retreat centers, festivals, conferences, synagogues, farms, and online. Meditation offerings include a six-week The Practice of Parenting program for new(ish) parents, classes and workshops,

mystic-in-residencies, retreats, special events, and one-on-one coaching.

My approach to all of my work is that sustainable repair of the world happens from the inside out. I love working with individuals, teams, communities, and organizations to create inclusive, accessible, and radically amazing experiences.
